New problem with IE6 patch and web addresses

Since my system added the 912812 group of patches, I now have to enter
http:// before all web addresses except those that are in my Favorites
folder. I am hearing of other users on different networks having the same
problem. Does Microsoft have a fix for this yet?

I had the same problem on two computers. I screwed around with a bunch of
stuff. The best I can tell, it just started working on its own.

Rick, the same thing happened to me AND i cant right click on a word file and
then click "send to" to send it to a different folder without the computer
locking up and freezing and then I have to unplug it cold to reboot....this
sucks...

Was there ever an answer for this? My laptop started doing this recently. IE6
does not show up in install/uninstall programs so I cannot select repair. I
tried "sfc /scannow" but this didnot resolve. I changed registry to IE not
nstalled per another post and tried to reinstall but always recieve message
that newer version is installed.

HELP PLEASE!
