Brand new birthday present Samsung YP-U2 MP3 has an Installation Manual which
requires Windows Media Player 9 to Install Media Studio ( My computer is
Windows XP).
I have installed Windows Media Player 11 and 10 but it still won't work.
Aaagh! How can I start using my (expensive) new present? Help!

I would recommend contacting the Samsung support that is shown in your
manual.

I bought the same model a couple of weeks ago. I also have windows XP
and media player 10. I have installed the Samsung Media Studio that
came with the installation disk but it does not work properly. It is
very slow and, even worse, half of the controls are written in japanese
writing (so it looks to me like it did not install properly). However,
this does not seem to be a problem. Windows Media Player 10 is quite
capable of transfering files to your player. Even better, you don't
have to actually sync this device with Media Player at all, just copy
and paste music folders you would like to play directly onto the
device. Click on "My Computer" and then select the device.

I do have another problem with this player. Whenever I try to start it
up, it freezes when loading and I have to press the reset button with a
pin, then it starts fine. I find this very annoying and I am going to
see if I can get a new one under waranty.

Apart from that the player is excellent. I can load it up with about
300 wma files (encoded at 64kbps). It has a radio and a voice recorder,
and you can use it as a flash drive for other computer files. For $100
it is better value than the Ipod shuffle.
