new update problems June

I had Windows XP Pro SP2 automatically download the new updates and it
notified me they were ready to be installed. I closed all open programs and
hit install. Everything installed and clicked restart. When it came back
up to the logon screen I could not type in my password. I shut down the pc
and booted back up this time i could logon, but then it froze at my desktop
loading ( saw the desktop, but no icons). Restarted again and choose Last
Known Good Config and then it worked.

I had someone else call me after they installed the new updates and when
they ran norton antivirus it crashed the computer??

There seems to be problems with these new updates.
