Most of the Toshiba stuff can be shut off. You can try googling for
the names of the programs. FYI - Toshiba will be no help at all -they
can't even tell you what the programs do.
First, go into Programs and Features and remove any application you
don't think you need. Toshiba gave you a whole bunch of trialware and
programs that you likely don't care about.
Second, I would recommend installing startup control panel to allow
you to do some editing of the startup programs/keys. Find it here:
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml. Once you run the install
program, you will have a simple icon in your control panel that you
can use.
After tuning my system, the only TOSHIBA specific modules I have
starting are:
HKCU - TOSCDSPD
HKLM - 00CrdMain, HSON, Smoothview, SynTPEnh, TPwrmain, cnFNcEnabler
I also left the ATI Start CCC program running.
