New Vista (Home Basic) and XP Laptop connectivity problems

The Vista machine has 3 drives in it 1 x SATA - 2 x ATA. This Vista machine can see the laptop and share it's drive.

The laptop can see and share the 2 ATA drives but gets a message that "Access Denied" when trying to connect to the SATA drive.

Any ideas most a appreciated.
