Hi,
I am new to the NG and Vista. I just got it two weeks ago when I got my
new laptop, an HP Pavilion dv9429us with 2gigs ram, 200 gig HD, Dual Core
x64 processor, yada yada. So far I haven't had any problems with Vista,
knock on wood. The only thing I don't like about it is that they took away
ActiveSync so I can no longer sync my old (but amazingly useful and
perfectly functioning) Jornada 720, a WinCE device.
I also have Vista running on my new week old desktop, a Dell Dimension.
(no, not rich, just had incredibly generous wedding guests at our wedding in
June) Again, no probs so far. Then again the old desktop was running ME
(which sucks incredibly) so even Vista is an improvement! Both computers run
Vista Home Premium.
Glad to be here! I've been using Windows since 3.1!

Sue

Good but I disagree that vista is better than windows Me.
Anything is better than vista.
And thats coming from someone who hated windows Me!
You can imagine how much I am "fond" of vista.... :-)

Sue,
Welcome to the group. But be careful if you say you like Vista the trolls
will attack you like buzzards.
Go to help and support on your computer and do a search for live sync.

there is no reason for anyone to attack her....

what she really should be afraid of vista-maniacs to keep saying that vista
is great
and that whatever goes wrong is her fault or some driver. Its never vista's
fault.

LiveSync won't recognize WinCE devices, only Windows Mobile/Pocket PC. The
Jornada 720 ceased production in 2001. It runs WindowsCE 3.1. Outdated, yes,
but still damn useful. :-)

I'd just like to point out that there are some folks who would say that me
to vista is not an improvement.
