New Windows Update and ActiveX Control

The following message appeared on my online college website:

Microsoft has released an Internet Explorer patch (KB912945) that is now
included in Automatic Updates. The patch will require a confirmation response
to a dialog box requesting authorization to run ActiveX controls within the
current webpage.

Once the patch is installed, you may experience dialog boxes requiring that
you click, ‘OK’ to run ActiveX control, when entering and navigating the
campus and classroom environments.

These dialog boxes are appearing on other internet websites as well as my
college web based classroom. I find it very annoying and even though I click
"ok" on the dialog box to allow active x controls to work, they don't. What
can I do to delete this patch or stop the automatic dialog boxes or
permanently allow active x controls to work on my laptop.

Please explain in layman's terms as I am not familiar with computer-ese.

Its a shame you did not read the entire posting of mine. As you can see
your post is just meaningless jibberish to me. I asked that you put it in
laymens' terms or non-computer language (no techie language) which you did
not. I don't understand what this means?
