I went to check for updates and found the site had been updated. I installed
the new software it asked to do and then get the message I need to change my
settings to auto update to use it. I do not want my settings to auto update
as I want to check and apply the updates I choose. I also do not want the sp2
update installed on my computer yet. I want to wait till it has been out
awhile. Does anyone know what I can do. Thank you in advance.

I am sorry, I forgot to add the error message number. It is 0x80070422.
Surely we do not have to have our computer set to auto update if we do not
want to.

wait till the rush of dips stop trying to download that
bloatware.
then maybe all the patches will come out when less people
use it.
did you know there is already security holes in sp2.

Thank you. I was already leaning toward what you wrote. I finally was able to
get in to see if there were any new critical downloads available without
having to install the new sp2 update. I am not surprised there are already
security flaws in the new update. I learned the hard way not to download new
software until it is out for awhile. Once again, thanks for the advice.
