Newbie & Just Need Help

itoo had an update that failed which read "Security update for Windows Meida
Player 9 for Windows 98 and Windows ME (KB911565)". I have Windows ME. I
don't think that had anything to do with the problem I have a question
on...last evening I was making a purchase over the internet and I don't know
if I clicked on one of the icons on the bar at the bottom of my screen, but
suddenly the bar that contains the start button and all those icons that go
horizontal at the bottom of my screen switched to the right hand side of my
screen going vertical. I have tried everything I know to get it back on the
bottom but have not been successful. Can anyone help?

as in your taskbar thingy is on the side of the screen... just click and drag
it back to the bottom, I remember the first time I did that trying to figure
out how to undo it, it was fun while it lasted.
