If nothing you have installed *asks* for a newer version of the .NET
Framework - then you do not *need* a newer version of the .NET Framework.
Also - note that the versions of the .NET Framework are *not* cumulative.
If you have 2.0 - you may still need 1.1 and if you have 3.0, you may still
need 2.0 and 1.1...
- Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0
There are also patches for each of those.
If you want to get really confused:
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Which going by it's description - replaces .NET Framework 2.0 with SP1 and
..NET Framework 3.0.
"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 contains many new features building
incrementally upon .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0, and includes .NET Framework
2.0 service pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.0 service pack 1."
Of course - perhaps I am mis-interpretting what it means and even if you
have .NET Framework 3.5 - you still need the .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0...
Anyone?
