Hi there, has anyone else experienced a similar problem with the newest update?
I'm running XP home edition, DSL Modem and Trendnet Wireless Router...
yesterday the automatic updates were installed and when the PC reboot I had
no connection to the internet, the wireless router no longer recognized and
even the DSL modem wouldn't run when I set it up to use without the wireless
router. I rolled back to the previous checkpoint and all was well till the
update was installed again and after messing with it several hours I rolled
it back again to Tuesdays checkpoint so I could get online again.
Is there any way of preventing this particular update? A patch or
something? Any ideas?

thanks
Aurora

Hi
I have had similar problems and have spent ages installing and rolling back
etc, I started to realise that the problems seemed to be linked to my zone
alarm firewall so I turned it off and it briefly worked, so I went to the
zone alarm site and imeadiately found the solution - ie reinstall ( but they
do suggest some other options aswell) hope that helps

monsternut,

"They" did - if you mean ZoneAlarm. ;-)

If you don't have ZoneAlarm - you may have a new issue for which you may
need to troubleshoot further - as it seems to be unique.
