?I've noticed that Windows Live Mail orders the message threads by the date
of the last message that has been posted in the specific thread.
(conversations-on , sort by sent(conversations)

Outlook Express, and as far as I know all other newsreaders, put the threads
in order by the first message of a thread. Is there any way make
WLM do the same thing ?

Thanks,
Bob

Probably not. I don't use WLM for news, so I don't much care, anyway.

Bob, if you have the 'sent' column showing, look at the heading. There
should be a small black arrow head. If it is pointing down, just click on
the 'sent' column heading and it will change the order of the messages.

Thanks Lois, but this is not what I mean.
I want WLM to order the threads by the date of when the thread was created.
WLM orders a thread by the date of the last message within the specific
thread
which to me is highly unusual.
By the way, something else I noticed, is there any way to automatically
quote the
messages I reply to ?

I think I'll switch to another usenet client. I don't like the way it looks
and operates
anyway. I prefer a menu bar with pull down menus the old fashioned way.

Thanks,
Bob

With conversation on, sort by sent(descending)
- WLM places messages within a thread in chronological order..oldest first.
- Threads with new messages will appear first and retain that position
until threads with new messages dated later arrive(i.e threads with new
messages move to the top(or bottom is sort by sent is ascending)
