NIC icon is system tray

In XP, I could select the properties of my network connection (NIC), and
enable "Show icon in notification area when connected".

I don't see this option in Vista, yet it seems to display in the system tray
just the same. Is this always enabled now? Or is there a setting someplace
else for it?

Thanks!

Its a bit different in Vista, you have to open Network and Sharing Center >
click View Connection Properties. You can access this location when you
click the Notification icon.

Right-click anywhere on the taskbar | Properties | Notification area tab and
the Network checkbox is what you're looking for.

Just a note that there may be a weird bug related to removing the icon.
On mine, and other computers from posts I've read, turning it off vcan
cause the taskbar to occasionally blink on for a split second. Even with
the icon, mine does it a little, but without the icon, it does it very
often and was very annoying.

You may not notice the change until after a reboot.

Andre,

I found and opened "Network and Sharing Center", but I can not find a button
or link called "View Connection Properties" on the "Network and Sharing
Center" page. Where is it?

Thanks,

Bob.
