Many people says that Microsoft does not support NIC teaming in "load
balancing mode" but only in failover mode.
Can anybody help me in finding the right Microsoft KB note?
Thank you very much.

Hello,

I guess you are thinking about this KB:
Using teaming adapters with network load balancing may cause network
problems

Thank you very much for your reply.
If I understand correctly the recommendation is to use Team only in fault
tolerance mode and not in Load Balancing.

I would use the latest driver version from broadcom or intel anyway.

It's not so much about failover or load balacing, but using this type of
feature.

If you don't need more than one link active, i wouldn't go load
balancing anyway (add complexity and management).

Do you have 2 switches ? When using a cluster (mscs or nlb), i generally
plug one server to switch 1, and the other server to ther other switch.

For MSCS, this setup allow to use the second internal nic for intra
cluster communication, without adding extra nic.

Most of the time i had issue with fault tolerant team was the
switch/team setup, badly configured and so not compatible together. Take
much care on it.
