I have windows vista home prem. I had an account setup for my daughter and
then an account setup for me. I was the admin and my daughter is a standard
user. Now we are both standard users for some reason and there is no admin
and I can't do anything. Why is this and how can I fix? Thanks

Hi kmf13,

See if you can boot into Safe Mode:

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/123496-safe-mode.html

and change your account type back to an administrator using Method Two
here:

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/12...ount-type.html

If this does not work, then try enabling the Buil-In Admnistrator
account while in Safe Mode, then logoff Safe Mode and logon to the new
Administrator account. While in this account, change your old account
back to a administrator type account.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Can someone suggest a password storage program that is safe to download? I
tried the free Access Manager download but the popup warning from Microsoft
scared me into not running it. My apologies for interrupting this thread with
a new question but I also seem to not be allowed to start a new question by
clicking the new question option. Thank you.

Read the message directly above yours from Brink. If there are no
administrator accounts on the system, you need to start in safe mode. This
will allow you to log on with the Built-In Administrator account. Once you
are logged in, you can change your account back to an administrator account.
