No Auto Install for SP2?

Has anybody noticed that SP2 does not install
automatically?
I had a test machine set to install Windows Updates at
6PM. At 10 PM I logged on as a regular user and expected
to see that the machine had installed the service pack
and rebooted. Instead I got a prompt to install the SP -
not what I expected at all. I decided to click the
cancel button to see what would happen. Next, I logged
on as an Administrator and never was prompted to install
the SP. I assume that after 6PM tomorrow, the prompt to
install will come up again.
This is very disappointing as I have about 250 Windows XP
machines scheduled to install updates at 3AM, which would
have been perfect for something as big as SP 2. Instead,
the users will be prompted and are likely to hit Cancel
and if they hit OK, they won't be able to use their
computers for about a half hour.
This is really odd because it appears that the SP is
being installed by the logged on (regular) user, but I
assume it's actually installing as System.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a mistake or
did MS think it was the right thing to do?
Thanks

Charlie;
If you are set for Automatic Update, it will prompt to accept the EULA
before installation starts and that is normal.
I am unsure if it will ask again, but I think it will.

All the computers may not get SP-2 at the same time.
Microsoft is limiting the number of computers daily that get SP-2
through Automatic Update.
So it could take a few day to get them all.
More if the are not available as much.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not concerned about whether the machines get SP2 at
the same time, I have been expecting latency all along.
What I'm saying is that I thought the SP install through
Auto Update would be like any other Windows Update.
Since our machines are set to install them at 3 AM, they
normally get installed at that time and then reboot
without any user intervention; including not having to
accept the EULA. This has been successful many times
over since we deployed the machines nearly 2 years ago.
Regards.

Charlie;
But this time someone needs to accept the EULA for SP-2.

Charlie;
I am not all to familiar with SUS but I heard Microsoft resolve the
issue so users with SUS will not need to accept the EULA.
From what I understand if you sync you SUS server it should work
properly this time.

With that many machines to update, get the Network Administrators packege
of SP2 here and burn it to several CD's and use them to install it:

Same exact problem here....it is driving my users crazy...
(not to mention me)....I set up a group policy to install
SP2 to 4 PCs (to test the install process)....but it
spread throughout my whole network. I have added
the "Ignore SP2" group policy update that Microsoft sent
out, but it doesn't seem to be working
correctly...luckily SP2 doesnt break anything if the
users install it...but Im getting lots of flack for
interrupting their work!

Mark;
Microsoft corrected the error but you need to re-sync your SUS server.
