No AutoUpdates after upgrading XP to Vista

I upgraded my XP Pro machine to Vista Enterprise at the weekend. The
machine is a member of a 2003 R2 AD domain and Windows Updates are centrally
delivered by WSUS.

WSUS is configured to deliver Vista patches and updates but my machine isn't
receiving them - although it does recognise that its updates are 'Managed by
your system administrator'.

When I try to update manually I get an error code 8007000D and no help from
the 'Get Help' link!

Are there any MVPs out there who know a solution which doesn't involve
disjoining from the domain (as someone else has had to do further down this
group)?

Thanks
Liam

Error code 0x8007000D means Error_invalid_data
'Tis possible that clearing out the SoftwareDistribution folder *may*
correct it.
Show hidden files, folders, and system files
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...l62.html#vista

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution
Delete the contents of the Download folder
Delete the contents of the EventCache folder
Close the window
Empty the Recycle Bin

If that does not resolve the issue suggest you post to the WSUS newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...pdate_services
I am not in the know when it comes to where or what WSUS does to the
redirect that detects updates being pushed out.

Thanks for that MowGreen. Afraid it didn't help. I'll post on the WSUS group.
Thanks again
Liam

I had the same problem and got no help from posting in the WSUS newsgroup. I
had even flagged WSUS to report/process Vista updates and approved them. The
problem continued. Sounds like where you are.

Then I woke up to the fact that I had not yet applied WSUS SP1 (because it
was such a huge download). I found that SP1 adds support for Vista. As soon
as I applied SP1 to the WSUS server, my Vista machine no longer got this
error code and is working fine.

Whew! Woulda been nice if there was a KB article highlighting this solution
for that error code.
