No Bootable Devices error after Windows Update install

After installing Windows Updates, I am getting the "No Bootable Devices"
error when i turn on my D600 laptop. It will only boot up if I insert the
reinstallation CD. If I remove the reinstallation CD, it will boot up to the
desk top. This problem just started after installing the updates and
restarting the computer. Did a Windows Update file cause this to happen? If
so, what is the registry key that I can delete so that it will stop the
problem?

When you have the system booted up go into Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel. For XP SP2, put a check in the box that says " Show
updates ". Scroll down for the latest date when the updates were
installed. Uninstall them one at a time to determine which one is
causing the issue and post back with the KB number of the culprit, please.
