All:

Thanks for the forum and feedback option and I finally got here.

After monitoring this software for several weeks with the Win Internals
process monitor and have found the following :

o Third parties are able to install and work around the install service
when it is disabled. No dialog or otherwise. They install an "Advanced
installer" and do what they want. What do we pay for ?Shiet.

o winsxs: Win Side by side keeps growing and growing replacing vista
dlls with god knows what. What the heck why have an operating system at
all then if everyone and their brother can replace os files with their
own version. Where is the quality ? Customer commitment ?

o Cannot turn off various services no matter what. Needs a third party
virus protection because you cannot do it yourself ?

o Network appears to be off. Yet no way to be sure unless you unplug
the cable. Images are screwy no X when it is turned off with software.

o As a professional I cannot use this to do my job effectively becasuse
I do not trust it. To me this is a serious let down. Not worth the time
or money. This is really bad after using Microsoft products for over 10
years.

o No ssh or other secure mechanism to support the wide variety of file
uploads and server monitoring non-windows (non webdav). What are you
doing to support developers, and web development people? Just do not see
the commitment to quality. Do you realize what a market that is ?

J.

i just want to think you for posting what you did..i dont know all the hig
tech stuff..that is wrong in vista..i think you for leting us know and its
all ways good to learn something..what i do know,,this os.is crap..im
disapointed..

i thought here it is 2007..just maybe..they have there act together and have
come up with something great..then i tried to open the box..that should of
told me right there...its going to make you cry..

it was like leting pandora out of the box..what nightmare..it is rigged
up.to fight you on everything..not help you..it makes you go buy new software
and hardware..when what you have is good and right and it all worked
perfect..in xp

i feel like..thie is something george bush..came up with..wire taps and
spying on us..big brother is in our computer...i just wish i had of known
about the forty five day thing..to get your money back..the ones that still
have that..get your money back..

rebuy it in a year or two..when maybe you can buy a dvd..vista with all the
updates and a fixed version..if i was a well off person with plenty of money
to waste..this box and disc would be broken in half and on its way to the
dump...i just wish more people like you would come on here and post and tell
us more.the damage control..mvp,s try and discredit us..they cant do that
with you
