no connection to internet explorer after downloading service pack2

after downloaing service pack2 on home. Internet explorer will not open tried
everything any suggestions please?

Did you have IE7 installed before you installed SP2?

Try clicking on Tools in IE>Connection>LAN settings>Auto detect.

Suggestions? But you said you've tried everything.

1. Uninstall SP2 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Run a thorough check for hijackware, including posting your HijackThis
log to an appropriate forum.

http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 or
other appropriate forum for expert analysis, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean bill
of health.

could not download ie7 untill after i downloaded sp2 but i done that and it
still didnt work

See if I understand, you wanted to download IE7 but you needed SP2. So you
downloaded and installed SP2.
Did you then download IE7 and install it? If so, it can't be SP2 ... or
else you would not have been able to download IE7 after installing SP2.
