No Connectivity after Win Update

For about the last 2-3 weeks, after my system runs Windows update and the
updates are all done successfully, when I reboot the computer, I cannot
connect thru my LAN card to the internet or my exchange server. I have been
fixing this with a 'patched' version of tcpip.sys by booting into safe mode
and copying the patched driver in the drivers folder. This fixes it until
the next time I run Windows update. I don't like doing it this way but it
is the only way I know of to fix it.

Any solutions??
