I cannot get my Windows Live Messenger to accept ANY contacts. I tried many
that I know are legit, and that work in AIM, and get the message that it is
not a valid email address, and no valid IM name. What is up with that?

I have XP Pro, version 2002, Ser. pk. 2, and have Windows Live Messenger
Version 8.1 (Build 8.1.0178.00), and just bought a Microsoft VX-3000 LifeCam,
& installed the accompaning software.

Have you tried using another account, and adding contacts to it?

How do I use another account? I am just trying to set up my installed
Messenger, and it will not accept any contacts I try to add.

Make a new Windows Live ID, and signin with the new ID, then add contacts to
it.

It isn't AIM that Windows Live Messenger works with, but Yahoo
Messenger and the Yahoo E-mail Addresses. But your contacts should work in
Windows Live Messenger, as long as they have signed up for Windows Live
Messenger using the same information, they have in AIM.

As for the other kind poster, I guess I have to have my contacts put their
own contact info in Windows Live Messenger before I can add them. And, my
AIM never seems to show any of my contacts as online! But, a couple have
contacted me on AIM. Should I be able to use this particular web cam & it's
software on AIM?

Do I need anything other than my web cam, and it's installed software? I
seem to be reading in Google that one needs one of various online software of
different types, like Win32, I think one of them was.

Aside from your kind replies, is there an online site that would be Windows
Live Messenger specific to guide me? My searches have only frustrated me.
