No Contacts Settings

I am trying to sync only selected categories on my PC (Outlook) to my PPC
WM5 using ActiveSync 4 but the option is greyed out.

If I disconnect my PPC and connect my smartphone, the settings option is
there and I can select the required categories.

Why can I do this on my Smartphone but not on my PPC?
