No display coming out of sleep mode

I'm having the same problem with an added twist. My computer won't come
out of sleep mode right, no mouse or keyboard help there. But when I
try a hard boot and then start the PC up again, it sounds like a typical
startup, but still no response from the monitor AND the tower goes to
sleep again. So I cannot get on my computer to make any changes!

Oh yeah, running a Gateway LX6200 with Vista Home Premium 64bit.

This sounds like a BIOS issue - have you checked Gateway's site for an
update?

Ok this is what worked for me to remedy this.

1. Make sure your video card drivers are up to date and are officia
drivers, not windows generic. I installed a new ATI card and that'
when I started having this issue

2. If your video card has tow outputs like mine does, switch to th
other one. Mine are color coded, one yellow and one white. I sappe
plug into the white and all was golden

Hope this helps out

Hello All,

I am also facing the same problem since I updated my Compaq Presario
laptop to Windows Vista. I am unable to get the system back up once I
had put that in the Sleep mode.

Even rebooting the system doesn't work. Somehow it booted up today
after a week but again I accidentally put the computer in sleep mode and
its not booting up now.

Can anyone please help...

Hi, I have compaq SR5510f 4GB RAM, Athlon X2 5000+ with same issue,n
display after resuming from sleep mode + the processor fan keeps o
running on high speed all the time and the pc cannot be put in slee
mode again, just restart via tower button. I have 512Mb ATI HD 455
Saphire Radeon and Samsung T220HD LCD HDTV/Monitor. Power suppl
upgraded to Thermaltake 430W. All components working OK as per Devic
Manager. Contacted HP support, tried all this
1. Updated BIOS with versions 5.27 which claims that this problem i
solved; checked PCI-E as a primary video adapter in Bio
2. Updated all drivers (+ installed fresh copy of windows
3."Allow this device to wake the computer" checked in Control Panel fo
Mouse/Keyboar
4.Cleaned PC from dus
5. Reinstalled (physically and software) Graphic Car
NOTHING worked. Finally, HP suggest to take the PC to service as ther
is probably hardware issue
I beleive it is BIOS )BIOS is the one that prepares the machine afte
identifying, testing and initializing PC devices) or hardware issue. A
my PC is just out of warranty, thinking of buying different motherboar
to solve this. Current motherboard is ECS MCP61PM-HM REV. 1.0
Anyone has any other idea how to solve this issue??

Go to Advance Power Settings.
Set hard drive to turn off a minute or 2 before sleep.
Set Hybrid and Hibernate modes to "Never/Off"
Under USB settings select "Disable"
Under Multimedia select "Allow ....."
