I recently changed ISP. When I go to the win update web site it only shows
one update. I have my updates set to automatic and I've also manually
dnloaded numerious updates. Can anyone explain why I'm not seeing all my
previous updates??

Thanks
Mike

Mike;
Windows Update History is only a history of updates installed by Windows
Update.
The updates you manually installed are not using Windows Update and thus are
not displayed in the Windows Update History.

Yes, I do understand that, but "Why" when I look at "history" I only see the
one from yesterday which was the validation check. I've been a XP user for
over two years. Way before SP2 came out and Nothing is there. Nada, zip.

Mike;
The amount of time you have had windows XP is not relevant.
The Service Pack installed is also not relevant.

I install all Service Packs and a few other updates manually so they are not
in the history which is normal and correct.
Also, some troubleshooting steps call for deleting the files that contain
the Windows Update history.
The lack of history by itself is not a problem.

Hi,

Under your windows folder, you haven't deleted the SoftwareDistribution
or the SoftwareDistribution\DataStore folder lately by any chance? If
you have, you deleted your previous WU history listings as well.

Hi;
I went to the Windows folder/SoftwareDistribution folder and there are
numerious files there. Some have a date that go back to early 2005. Any
other recommendations??
