no internet connection - dual booting

I'm dual booting on a pre-installed Vista computer with XP on Drive E.I have
internet connection on Vista, but no internet connection on XP. I do have a
Firewire connection though. How do I correct this problem so that I have an
internet connection on XP.Thanks for any info.

I have a broadband connection.The brand of modem is Netopia.I have a Asus
motherboard,P5N32-E SLI. Under Network in the device manager it has NVIDIA
nFORCE Networking Controller.I have not Upgraded the BIOS or any
drivers.Thanks for the help.
