I have been having a problem for a couple of weeks now. Everything on my
other computer was working fine, when all of a sudden, there wasn't any
connectivity on my other computer. When I checked the connection status, it
had the red X but gave me an Error 1068 (Dependency service or group failed
to start). The strange thing is that it happened now, since before I still
had that red X displayed, but I got connectivity. But now, on to the real
concern.

I have tried many methods on the Internet with no success.
I have gone to services and tried to start the Network Awareness Locator
Service to no avail. I have run the SFC checker and if flagged on file
(npmproxy.dll). When I found an "updated" version that was supposed to be
fine, it did absolutely nothing. I have tried replacing that file with no
avail. What is the latest version of this file and why is my connectivity not
back?

Open Control panel, Device manager, and highlight the Ethernet device,
Action menu, "Uninstall", (do Not put a check in 'delete driver") then
Action menu,"scan for hardware changes", to find the device drivers again
automatically.

Hi,

Have you tried updating/reinstalling the drivers for your network card? A
failed dependency usually indicates that a service cannot start, and it's
often due to driver files being corrupt or inappropriate for the system. In
addition, with x64, these need to be signed drivers.

I have, but it didn't seem to help out. I transferred the latest Ethernet
card drivers but I still got the same status.

Thanks to all for the help so far. I verified that I installed the most
updated drivers and that I got the 64 bit version. The following link is a
desktop screen capture showing this and a couple of other tests.

Can anyone suggest what I should do from here? I can make another recording
if that would be helpful.

Here is the link of a few tests that I have done so far but to no avail.

If anyone can help out, that would be great. I can make another screen
capture if needed.
