no more office with failed upgrade

the upgrade to sp3 has failed and now my office wont work, its giving me
error 1706, and that i need the office small buss disc, which i dont have.
I went to the the upgarde without disc and it also failed install.
at this time my office is stating i need the small buss disc and error 1706,
any ideas of where to go from here

Why do you not have the required disk?

I bought the hp comp from frys I think it came preloaded, and no disc. At
onetime we did and still might have a office disc somewhere in our stacks of
things, exactly where im not sure it is. this comp is and has been validated
with microsoft as having office to my recall.

ok i found the office disk that came with the comp and reloaded it, and i
still cant get the sp3 to take, states i need the small buss office and wont
take the office disc that i have which is just office basic edition. so what
does this mean what should i do at this time

Hi there

Try downloading the full Sp3 service pack to your desktop and try again.
since you did not mention your office version I cannot give you the download
link for the full sp3
