Hi,

Occording to news sites etc microsoft was supposed to release about 8 some
say 16 fixes for windows xp in february 2005.

However I have no service packs installed and when I go to windows update
there are no critical patches mentioned ?!

Bye,
Skybuck.

Without the SPs and other hotfixes, you are already probably infested with
spyware, adware, malware, trojans, viruses, etc., which have rendered your
computer unable to download any updates.

So in short I think installing a service pack is more risky than applieing
patches. (?!)

Unless service packs fix critical bugs which patches dont do ?

What makes you think patches don't fix critical bugs?

You probably need to do a little studying on the issue ;-)

Hi

Correct, there are no more new security updates available to Windows XP
that have no service pack installed.

The original version of Windows XP, generally known as Windows XP Gold
or Windows XP Release to Manufacturing (RTM) version, reached the end
of its security update support life cycle on September 30, 2004.

The same will happen for Windows XP SP1 September 17, 2006.
