No net connection

PC with Vista won't connect to the internet. The normal repair
functions don't help. The system says there is no problem with the
connection. But Firefox and IE won't work. An Apple computer works
fine, so the connection is fine until the adsl modem. I have Home
Premium.

I downloaded ZoneAlarm firewall and Antivirus a week ago, when the
security programs of the new PC expired. But the connection has worked
fine with these programs - until now.

Please, any tips how to fix this?
