no nudges or sounds alerts

No sounds in my Windows Live Messenger seems to work. They did when I
installed it for the first time, but suddenly, witouht any change in
confguration or anything else, it stopped!!! No nudges, neither alerts of
callings (with the webcam), or instant messages or received email alerts
sound!!! Nothing! I've tried everything, even uninstalling and re-istalling,
but no way. It doesn't work!!! Can anybody help me, please??!!

I assume you've already done the following, although since you didn't mention it, it's the
first step as reinstalling won't do much as the original configuration isn't removed.

Open up any Messenger window, press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menubar,
choose the Tools menu, then Options, then choose the Alerts & Sounds option. Are the sounds
checked and playable (click each and then choose the play button)?
