No password prompt when Vista resumes from sleep

I had set a password, and required it when resuming from sleep. But
Vista was resuming from sleep with no password prompt. I tried many
things to fix this, then I tried requiring no password, then closed
the control panel, reopened it and required a password again. Then it
worked and Vista woke up with a password prompt. I assume this is a
bug? Anyone else experienced this?

no solution but I have the same here..password request does not always pop
up when pc awakens from sleep...(HP notebook)
