no recent updates???

The last time I was able to download an update for Windows XP Home Edition
SP2 was October 26. Recently, my computer has become extremely slow,
especially at startup, but I have ruled out viruses or spyware. Have there
been any major updates since October 26?

Jake, this site is unfamiliar to me. Can't quickly see where to send
reponse. etc. Want to know if I'm upgraded from basic W98 (from 1999),
skipping all intemediate upgrades, to most recent upgrades. Jo

I simply want to know what version of Windows 98 I'm now signed up for.
