I just performed a fresh install of Live Messenger 8.1 on 2 PC's. The video
works great but no sound. We went into tools and verified the sound settings
we correct. I am not finding much help on what can be done to solve this
issue.. Does anyone have a solution?

I have the same problem, video works, but no audio on either end. A Google
search turns up that we are not alone.

What you can try is this, it works for me: instead of making a "Video Call",
make a "Call Computer" call then turn the video on manually. This works for
me and the person I am calling. The BIG problem with this is that in a "Call
Computer" call, there is no button for full screen video.

The thing is that this is a pretty irritating issue to be having in the
version "8.whatever" of any software. It's basic functionality.

Also, I can confirm this happens in both 8.1 and 8.5 beta.

I have the same problem. Video alone and audio alone works fine, but not
video with audio. As this seems to be a common problem, does Microsoft have a
statement on that or provide any support or intends to fix this in the next
version of messenger?
