I am using vista home basic.
Just update the sp1.
But no sound after the update installation.
Any helps.

Go to the website of your PC manufacturer and download and install the
correct audio drivers for your model of PC.

yes it sounds like your sound card driver was corrupted or incompatibl
with SP1. Definitely reinstall it from your PC manuf website or from th
manuf of your sound card if you purchased it separately (like a Creativ
X-Fi sound card for example

I found the HP laptop website and reinstalled the audio driver.
It works.
