Hello,

I use Vista Ultimate.

With MSN Live Messenger and Skype, I have no sound, no problem with WMP11.

When I do with MSN Tools > Audio and Video Settings, I follow the wizard and
no sound at anytime the microphone is ok (I see the volume moving green,
yello and red). In the control panel > Sounds it's on Windows Default and I
don't see MSN sound and Skype sound. When I test a sound from this Window
that's work then it's not hardware.

I use a Logitech QuickCam 4000

Do you have an idea what'd happen ?

Thanks,

Did you click Volume in Notification Area to check if per app volume is set
on these programs?

Click on the Speaker icon in the Notification Area then click on the "Mixer"
link at the bottom of the main volume slider.

The volume is ok. The problem is harder than that.

Skype and Vista don't seem to want to play, my problem was similar...
let skype adjust volume automatically worked but was so low as to be
unusable, manually adjust setting simply killed the sound. Never did
figure out the problem but since Skype works perfectly on XP and Linux I
simply use one of those. Sorry not to be more helpful but maybe that is
a clue someone can follow up on.
