No sound only on some live streams

Not getting sound from CNN Live stream, used to get it, may involve sp1. I
think, not sure, it only involves streams using wmp11. I do get sound on
other streams. WMP11 works fine on AVI´s. No other sound problems. Need my
CNN Live back, any ideas.

First thing you can tell from what you have observed is that WMP lacks a
codec for those sounds. WMP has ways to look for those automatically, but
perhaps the one you have is corrupted.
To determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the
Player, if possible. While the file is playing, right-click the file in the
library, and then click Properties. On the File tab, look at the Audio codec
If you deleted the CBS audio codec, it's likely that WMP would then
re-acquire a good copy.

Thanks Mark, the problem is when WMP 11 is running from the stream site, only
the picture shows, it´s not the same as the full player with the file listed
at the right. The link I´m using is http://www.live-online-tv.com/ , the
first CNN link on that site. Any other ideas?

What was installed on the system previous to this occuring?

Certain bad versions of AC3Filter can cause this problem.

Hey zachd, you´re a genious. Downloaded AC3 V:1.11 from freecodecs, installed
it, everything works. Thanks, just wish I had my 2 days of time back.
