No sound when I receive a message, e-mail ...nothing

I am running vista. I have two user accounts (one for myself, one for my
daughter). I have no sound when I receive a new message or e-mail. My
second user account has no problem receiving sounds. I have checked the
sounds in alerts & sounds and everything seems to be in order. I have removed
msn live and re-installed ... still nothing. Any ideas?

Hi,

Do you have the Windows Live Mail installed? This sounds (no joke intended)
like an issue that was found in the previous version of Windows Live Mail.
When a new message was recieved there would be no notification sound whilst
Windows Live Mail was open. Please install the newest build 1365 (released a
couple of days ago), this should fix your issue.
