No sound in Windows Live Messenger

Ok, keep it simple...bought a webcam, signed up for a live id and called my
parents for a video chat...1st time, we heard each other perfectly...since
then, further calls have resulted in no sound (both ends)..we can see each
other but no sound!

Have tried the obvious (connections, settings, mute, volume etc) but nothing
seems to work...its driving me mad..!!!

Can anyone shed any light on this ??? thanks in advance!!!!

It is likely only one of you that is broken. Run the audio and video set up
in Messenger under Tools to fix or determine which installation is actually
not working.
