no sound from .wmv files

Hi,
I don't know for how long this has been going on but I noticed yesterday
that I now get no sound from .wmv files. Could it have come from a Windows
update? How can I fix this?

Well, I found out what happened. I had tweaked where I shouldn't have ...
boosting up a speaker setting. I changed it to a lower setting and now it
works.
