Another viewpoint is to make the current windows reasonably fast in
comparison to the past windows, you have to update the hardware. True for
all past versions of windows. 3.0 to ME, and the other version of windows
in the NT line to Vista.

I have seen comments like this one since Windows 3.1 was released. I
personally never use a just released OS.
