Pressing the 'Alt' key reveals a Menubar, not a Toolbar

And he's right, some of the folders, such as Control Panel, don't have any
apparent tools 'save for perhaps Forward and Back etc. But most do have some
sort of menu available if you hit the 'Alt' key.

True. Got my menus and tools mixed up, which is why I'm not a chef.

There are a few more options available if you right-click in various places,
or click on the little black arrows, but he'd need to clarify exactly what
he means.

In some areas such as Explorer I don't seem to have an option to
display a toolbar. Same is true for the Control Panel.
Did I change something that could have caused this?

This is greatness! Thanks for the tip. I knew there must be a better way to
deal with the lack of menu bar besides having to add it back permanently.
Now if I can just teach this old dog to use the new trick.
