No updates since 8/2/09

I have not recieved updates since 8/2/09 for any Microsoft products including
Forefront Client Security that was installed with the /nomom option. I
checked for updates online for Forefront and found that there were about 12
that were not installed.

Prior to 8/2, I was getting anti-malware defintion updates every day
(sometimes twice) and updates for Visual Studio, Expression, Office 2007,
etc. at least weekly.

The machine is running Windows 7 RC and the only thing that has changed is
that Office 2010 was installed on 8/2/09.

When I manually check for updates from within Windows Update, it reports
that none were found.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Windows 7 RC, eh? Might want to upgrade to the RTM ASAP.

Anyway - you are more likely to receive assistance for Windows 7 issues
from:

Windows 7 Beta Support Forum (technical)

Getting Ready for Win7 Forum (less technical)

Thank you very much for your rapid reply. I have posted questions in both the
Windows 7 and Forefront forums as well.

I will heed your advice to upgrade to RTM but am consumed with trying to
figure out what caused this to happen and how to correct it. Maybe I need to
just let go of it.

[Despite what Shenan said, you'd best do a clean install of Win7 RTM, not an
upgrade.]

Thank you for your reply. It sounds like the prudent thing to do and I will
start the process immediately before this makes me mental, or more so than it
already has.

All,

I just performed a manual check for updates and received the following:

3 Important Updates:

Definition Update for Forefront Client Security (Antimalware 1.63.1298.0)
Security Update for Windows 7 RC (KB 973540)
Security Update for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 ATL for Smart Devices (KB 973675)

And the frustrating things is I did nothing.

Anyone else get the same?

Michael

KB973540 was released today and KB973675 was re-released today.

Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for August 2009
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms09-aug.mspx

And we still don't support Win7 here.
