no video chat button in live messenger 8.1 on vista home premium

i was using live messenger with a friend and i dont seem to have the video
chat button but he does. can anyone point me into the right direction.

Did it just disappear and has been there before? or has never been there?

If the former, just sign out and back in. If the latter, you may need to adjust your

> yes it was there before i bought a new laptop. my old one had the button but since i purchased this one and downloaded mmessenger live, the button is not there. my friend has the latest version of live messenger like me and has the button. any help would be greatly appreciated.
