Open Control Panel. At the top right of the window there is a search box,
type sidebar, you should now see the heading below "Windows Sidebar
Properties" click it and that will open "Sidebar Properties" put a check
mark next to "Start Sidebar when Windows starts".
From the "Start Search" you can do the same thing as above and at the top of
your start menu under programs you should see "Windows Sidebar Properties"
click it and it will open the same dialog box as above.
Open Control Panel, Under the heading "Additional Options" click it, at the
left side of this window is a list pane find on that list "Programs" click
it, now you will see in this window more heading, click the one that says
"Windows Sidebar Properties"
I am unaware if there is a Vista version that does not include Windows
Sidebar. There is always a chance if you have a branded computer like Dell,
Gateway, etc. that the manufacture of that box may not have included Sidebar
as part of their default installation. So If after using the directions
above you still can't find Windows Sidebar contact the manufacture of your
computer.
Contact the vendor of your copy of your Vista "?" "?" x64 and ask them.
