No web access after windows 2000 update

I´m no longer able to access the web from any browser after I did a
windows 2000 update. I guess it's been a while, since there were 47
critical updates to be done. However, only http sites are not working.
https sites work ok. I am also getting a reply when I ping sites like
yahoo.com and google.com. Avast virus scanner and Ad-Aware seem to do
updates too.

So why can't explorer or firefox access the http sites any longer???

My setup is DSL with a modem, followed by a buffalo wireless router. I
have a dual boot PC (win 2000 and XP.) XP still works fine. Any help is
greatly appreciated. I have shut down zone alarm.

Mr. Printer:

Try resetting the DSL router and the wireless router, one at a time. I
have no technical explanation, but that's what worked for me after a boatload
of w2k updates!
