I can't find it listed at the MS website or in my newsreader group listing.

My problem is I have - right out of the clear blue - lost my sound. Running
Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit. Device Mgr lists it as "High Def Audio Device".
Its motherboard sound. I have Klipsch external powered speakers attached
and have also have tried with headphones as well.

I'm not sure how to trouble shoot the thing!?

reinstall motherboard sound drivers from motherboard disc but preferably
download and install latest drivers from mfgr's website
