I just upgraded MSNM 7.5 to WLM 8.0.0792 .
Is it normal that my winks have disappeared from MSNM?
I clicked on the link Get more winks but I was directed to a commercial site
selling winks.
Is there a way to get the basic free winks, like the knock on the door, that
I had on the previous version back?

Greetings,

They should still be there. However, you can force the defaults to be re-created.

Firstly, shut down Messenger by right-clicking on its icon in the notification area and
choosing Exit. Click Start, then Run, type "%appdata%\microsoft\msn messenger" and click OK.
Then find the folder associated to your account (if you're not sure which it is, just do this
to each) and go into it. Right-click the Winks3 folder and choose Delete. Say Yes to the
prompt and then sign back into Messenger.
