non encrypted files won't copy

For several years I have copied non-encrypted discs using FAB Gold.
This has always worked with previous computers.
I just bought a new HP Desktop 6650 and an HP Notebook 6735s and both seemed
to work with this program until the recent Microsoft updates this past week.
Now they will copy to the hard drive, but when it comes to writing to the
blank DVD it states unable to write.
I will call the providers on Monday, but wonder if anyone else had similar
problems and have work-arounds.
Appreciate any advice - as I state I will call the providers, but frequently
they don't have any answer!
