I got this after seeing a wce..exe failure. Both the phone (palm 800w) and
the pc (xp sp2, as 4.5) say to re-sync manually and that all changes will be
lost. How professional. Further, Outlook is messed up becaue someone was
using it's file and closed unexpectedly. I killed Activesync, but outlook is
still useless. This usually requires restarting the PC.

I searched MS's site for 80883001 and came up empty. Otherwise I find it is
a common problem, some think it has to do with syncing mail (which I was
doing, one way from pc to phone) and that you shoud just stop doing that.

As usual, the suggested solution is to give up doing what you bought the
thing for.

Does anyone have any clues about cause or fix?

Regards,

John
